CAPE TOWN, WINELANDS AND GARDEN ROUTE

9 NIGHTS/10 DAYS

DAY 1
Our representative will meet you at Cape Town International Airport to transfer you to the hotel or guest house of your choice. You can use the afternoon to go up Table Mountain (weather permitting) and see the highlights of the city.

DAY 2
Full day Cape Peninsula Tour including Hout Bay, Cape Point, Simonstown and Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens.

DAY 3
Full day Winelands Tours visiting the areas of Franschhoek and Stellenbosch.

DAY 4
Township Tour in the morning and take the ferry to Robben Island in the afternoon.

DAY 5
Leave Cape Town/Stellenbosch (depending on where you have made your "Cape Experience" base, via the N1 and drive to Worcester. Visit the Kleinplasie Open Air museum. Continue on via Robertson and Montegu to Oudtshoorn.
Overnight in Oudtshoorn. See Accommodation.

DAY 6
Visit the world famous Cango Caves and one of the many ostrich farms. Take the Outeniqua Pass down to George and make your way to the guest house/hotel of your choice. (anywhere between Wilderness and Plettenberg Bay is recommended.)
Overnight. See accommodation.

DAY 7
Walk across the hanging bridge at Stormsrivier (if adventurous, bungy jumping and bridge swinging is an option!), visit Monkeyland in Natures Valley and stop to look at the 800 year old yellow wood Big Tree.

DAY 8
Start the day with an ocean safari in Plettenberg Bay to view seals, dolphins and whales in season. Explore the quaint town of Knysna with its many arts and crafts shops.

DAY 9
Return to Cape Town via the NN2 with stops in Mossel Bay to see the old Post Office Tree and in Swellendam to view some of its historical buildings.
Overnight in Cape Town. See accommodation.

DAY 10
Our representative will meet you at the guest house/hotel of your choice and transfer you to the airport for your flight home.

DAY 1 TO DAY 8
As for Cape Town and surrounds

DAY 9
Depart from Stellenbosch and drive along the N1, through the Du Toits Kloof Tunnel to Worcester. Visit the Kleinplasie Open Air Museum. Enjoy the drive through Robertson, Montague and Barrydale before arriving in Oudthoorn in the late afternoon.
Over night in Mossel Bay - see accommodation

DAY 10
Visit the world famous Cango Caves and one of the many ostrich farms. Take the stunning Outenique Pass down to George and carry on to the guesthouse of our choice.
Anywhere from Wilderness to Plettenberg Bay is recommended.

DAY 11 - 12
You have 2 full days to explore/tour the following:

Outenique Choo Tjoe
Ocean Safari
Elephant Park
Featherbed Nature Reserve
Sunset cruise on the Knysna Lagoon
Hanging bridge at Stormsriver
Big Tree
And a host of outdoor activities

DAY 13
Return to Cape Town via the N2 with stop overs in Mossel Bay and Swellendam.
Last night in the guest house of your choice in Cape Town.

DAY 14
Our representative can transfer you to Cape Town International Airport in time for you flight home.

As an alternative to the Garden Route we can also suggest "Route 62" - an "off the beaten track" meander through many little towns and over beautiful passes.
