Arniston
Arniston is less than 2 hours from Cape Town derives
its name from the British vessel, which wrecked there is May 1815.
This little fishing village which is set in one of
the Cape's most beautiful locations, is also know by locals as Waenhuiskrans
- wagonhouse cliff, after a cave which is accessible only at low
tide. Unspoilt dunes spill onto a pristine beach which meets sea
the colour of aquamarine.
Not far off is De Hoop Nature reserve in which there
is a 14km belt of wetland that plays host ot 12 of south Africa's
waterfowl species. Travellers who enjoy cycling can enjoy a mountain
bike trail that traverses the Potberg section of the reserve. The
owners of the hotel ensure a high standard by giving personal attention
to guests.
